The Rowan EDC and Rowan-Salisbury Schools’ Career and Technical Education (CTE) Program are thrilled to announce the return of the Aspire & Hire Career Expo, scheduled for Thursday, April 3, 2025, at the newly opened Rowan Community Center (formerly West End Plaza). This event is sponsored by the Rowan Chamber’s Workforce Development Alliance, Rowan EDC, Rowan-Salisbury Schools CTE, Rowan Partners for Education, and NCWorks.
This two-part event is designed to connect local talent with top employers and career opportunities across Rowan County.
The morning session, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., is reserved for workforce-ready high school seniors from Rowan-Salisbury Schools. The Aspire & Hire event supports the school system’s mission that every graduate is enrolled, enlisted, or employed by the time they receive their diploma.
“Our vision is for every student to graduate with a plan to enroll, enlist, or be employed,” said Stacey White, Executive Director of Career and Technical Education for Rowan-Salisbury Schools. “Aspire & Hire is more than a job fair—it’s a launchpad for our seniors, giving them direct access to the companies and industries that are hiring right now. It helps bridge the gap between graduation and the workforce, right here at home.”
The afternoon session, open to the public from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., gives adult job seekers a valuable opportunity to explore open positions, apply on-site, and potentially walk away with a same-day job offer. Job seekers are encouraged to pre-register for free on Eventbrite here to help expedite check-in, though walk-ins are welcome and registration is not required.

This year’s expo features an impressive and growing list of employers, including major manufacturers, public service providers, healthcare organizations, and staffing agencies.
This year’s event also marks a major milestone with the first-ever participation of Macy’s at a Rowan County job fair. The brand-new Macy’s Distribution Center in China Grove, announced in 2022, represents the largest economic development project in Rowan County’s history. Their presence at Aspire & Hire signals the ramp-up of hiring efforts at the state-of-the-art facility.
“We’re thrilled to begin the long-awaited hiring of associates at our new Macy’s Distribution Center in China Grove, and the Aspire & Hire Career Expo is the perfect place to kick things off,” said Alisa Stone, Senior Director, Facility Leader for Macy’s. “Our leadership team is now in place, and we’re especially eager to connect with skilled candidates for our maintenance positions. We’ve been working hand-in-glove with the Rowan EDC to ensure we’re deeply connected to the community—and now, all we need is a big turnout of excited warehouse worker candidates ready to join us and be part of something special.”
